Role Overview

Roche is seeking an FPS Medical Enabler to act as the custodian of disease area (DA) and product knowledge for the Foundational Portfolio (LLC). This role is embedded in the Business Enablement & LLC Innovation Chapter and focuses on optimizing late-life-cycle (LLC) portfolio strategies through innovative medical engagement, digital-first solutions, and patient-centric approaches.

The FPS Medical Enabler ensures scientific excellence, compliance, and patient safety while driving innovation in Go-To-Market (GTM) models and strengthening HCP and stakeholder engagement.

This role is ideal for experienced medical affairs professionals with deep expertise in late-cycle portfolio management, scientific strategy, and cross-functional collaboration.


Key Responsibilities

1. Scientific Strategy & Evidence-Based Insights

  • Synthesize insights from patient journeys, treatment landscapes, and real-world evidence to identify unmet medical needs.

  • Conduct medical benchmarking and integrate external clinical trends to enhance LLC portfolio capabilities.

  • Ensure medical investments and scientific activities are prioritized and aligned with DA and country objectives.

2. Compliance, Patient Safety & Clinical Governance

  • Maintain the highest ethical standards across all medical activities, ensuring adherence to SOPs, local Pharma Codes, and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead risk identification, mitigation planning, and internal controls to safeguard patient safety and data integrity.

  • Act as final medical authority for review and approval of external materials, ensuring scientific accuracy and compliance.

3. Capability Building & Knowledge Management

  • Coach internal squads and external partners on DA-specific knowledge and medical compliance.

  • Oversee medical inquiry processes, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based responses to HCPs.

  • Serve as the primary scientific resource within the network, enabling timely resolution of complex clinical questions.

4. Innovative Go-To-Market (GTM) Architecture

  • Co-design and pilot innovative, cost-efficient GTM models for late-life-cycle portfolios.

  • Collaborate with DA marketing leads to deliver data-driven, personalized medical content to HCPs.

  • Leverage AI and automation to enhance medical content creation, inquiry management, and insight generation.

5. Outcomes & Collaboration

  • Define short- and mid-term FPS outcomes aligned with organizational vision.

  • Partner effectively with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and accountability.

  • Lead or contribute to work packages, driving cross-functional problem-solving and technical expertise.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs within pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, biotechnology, or healthcare services.

  • Prior experience in late-life-cycle (LLC) portfolio management is highly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of disease areas, clinical development, and patient engagement strategies.

  • Proven experience in cross-functional collaboration, coaching, and scientific communication.

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
