About the Role

Syneos Health is seeking a driven and analytical HEOR Junior Statistician to support our HEOR and Real-World Evidence (RWE) analytics team. This role focuses on generating high-quality real-world evidence and analytical insights for healthcare and life sciences clients. The successful candidate will work on retrospective database studies, statistical analyses, and evidence generation to support payer, medical, and commercial decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Statistical Modeling

  • Conduct data extraction, cleaning, manipulation, and analysis using SAS and R to produce high-quality statistical outputs

  • Analyze large healthcare datasets, including U.S. claims and European EMR databases (e.g., CPRD, SNDS)

  • Support design and execution of retrospective observational studies, including cohort creation, variable definition, and confounding adjustment

  • Apply epidemiologic and statistical methods such as multivariable regression, propensity scoring, and sensitivity analyses

  • Generate structured analytical outputs including tables, figures, and summaries for manuscripts, reports, and presentations

Evidence Generation & Reporting

  • Contribute to the preparation of RWE study reports, manuscripts, and presentations

  • Translate complex analytical results into clear, actionable insights for cross-functional teams including HEOR, medical, and commercial stakeholders

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project milestones are met on time and within scope

Team Collaboration & Capability Building

  • Actively contribute to discussions on methodology and analytical approaches

  • Support internal process improvement, coding standardization, and capability-building initiatives within the HEOR analytics team


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree or higher in Biostatistics, Data Science, Epidemiology, Health Economics, or related field

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in HEOR or RWE analytics, ideally within consulting or the pharmaceutical industry

  • Proficiency in SAS and R for data manipulation, modeling, and visualization

  • Experience analyzing U.S. claims and EU EMR datasets such as CPRD or SNDS

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams

  • Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced consulting environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in RWE database analyses and statistical modeling projects

  • Familiarity with HEOR study design and payer evidence generation

  • Understanding of real-world evidence regulatory and methodological requirements
