Role Overview

LabCorp is seeking a Histotechnologist to join our Pathology laboratory in Seattle, WA. This role offers the opportunity to work in a high-volume clinical environment performing advanced histological procedures and supporting patient care through quality testing. This position includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus for eligible external candidates.

Work Schedule: Sunday – Thursday, 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM


Key Responsibilities

  • Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic examination.

  • Prepare and produce histopathological slides of surgical specimens.

  • Section embedded tissue using a microtome and mount sections accurately on microscope slides.

  • Perform immunohistochemical (IHC) and special staining procedures on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues.

  • Embed surgical tissue specimens and orient them properly for analysis.

  • Operate, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance on both manual and automated laboratory instruments.

  • Prepare reagents and stains required for special procedures.

  • Accurately record equipment logs, test results, and quality control data.

  • Follow laboratory SOPs, safety protocols, and quality control procedures.

  • Troubleshoot issues that may affect test performance and implement corrective actions.

  • Support high-quality patient care by delivering timely and reliable test results.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or equivalent meeting CLIA & state requirements.

  • HT/HTL certification required.

  • Knowledge of IHC and special staining procedures, with experience in molecular studies preferred.

  • Familiarity with routine histology procedures, microtome use, and embedding techniques for both large and small specimens.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in labeling and documentation.

  • Ability to work in a high-volume laboratory environment.

  • Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and compliance standards.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $32.29 – $51.03 per hour (plus 3rd shift differential)
