Job Summary
UCLA Health is hiring an IDS/Research Pharmacist – Oncology to support its world-class clinical research operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring investigational drug services (IDS) are executed with the highest standard of clinical, regulatory, and operational compliance. As a key liaison between pharmacy, physicians, and research teams, you'll be responsible for managing drug accountability, protocol adherence, and sterile/PO medication dispensing—all while shaping the future of patient-centered cancer therapies.
Key Responsibilities
Manage investigational drug studies from initiation through close-out
Dispense IV and oral medications per protocol specifications
Ensure compliance with GCP, FDA, IRB, and institutional guidelines
Perform quality control, documentation, and drug accountability tracking
Collaborate with PI and research teams for ongoing study operations
Supervise and mentor pharmacy support staff
Adapt quickly to evolving research and clinical requirements
Travel between UCLA Health sites as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications
PharmD degree from an accredited institution
Valid pharmacist license in California
Experience in clinical oncology or investigational drug services (IDS)
Strong understanding of GCP, ICH guidelines, and pharmacy law
Proficiency in IV preparation and hazardous drug handling
Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple protocols in a fast-paced environment
2–4 years of pharmacy experience in a clinical research or hospital setting preferred
