Role Overview

Syneos Health is seeking an IMS Reconciliation Specialist I to support investigator payment reconciliation and project close-out activities within global clinical trials. This role is critical in ensuring accurate alignment between site contracts, Oracle financial systems, and clinical trial management systems (MCTMS).

The position is ideal for professionals with strong Excel, data reconciliation, and financial reporting skills, preferably within a clinical research or CRO environment.


Key Responsibilities

Investigator Payment Reconciliation

  • Perform reconciliation of investigator payments by reviewing internal site contracts against Oracle financial data and MCTMS

  • Support project closure activities related to investigator financials and site payments

  • Identify, analyze, and resolve payment discrepancies in collaboration with internal stakeholders

Data Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare accurate reports related to investigator payments, budgets, and reconciliation status

  • Perform data reconciliation and validation to ensure financial accuracy and audit readiness

  • Handle large datasets with high attention to detail and data integrity

Systems & Process Support

  • Utilize Excel and internal reporting tools to streamline reconciliation processes

  • Maintain documentation to support audits and compliance requirements

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, clinical operations, and compliance


Required Skills & Competencies

Primary Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Intermediate to Advanced level), including:

    • VLOOKUP, IF, SUM functions

    • Pivot Tables and Conditional Formatting

    • Data Validation and Duplicate Identification

    • Text-to-Columns, Concatenate, and Date Formatting

  • Experience in reporting, data reconciliation, and payment data handling

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Good to Have:

  • Experience in clinical research or CRO environments

  • Exposure to financial operations within clinical trials

  • Auditing or compliance support experience


Education & Experience Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Equivalent education and relevant experience will be considered

Experience:

  • 1–3 years of relevant industry experience in reconciliation, reporting, finance operations, or clinical trial support

  • Prior experience supporting investigator payments or clinical trial finance is preferred
