Summary

The Information Specialist - Literature Intelligence supports teams such as Pharmacovigilance, Medical Affairs, Medical Information, and Drug Development by demonstrating literature searching skills to meet their information needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pharmaceutical Industry Knowledge: Effectively research product terminology, drug nomenclature, drug class hierarchies, and competitors.
  • Product Database Knowledge: Utilize databases like OVID, Embase.com, Pharma projects, Cortellis, Medline, PubMed, etc.
  • Search Strategies: Construct detailed drug literature search strategies.
  • Medical Terminology: Understand medical terminology to support literature searches.
  • Alert Strategies: Create proficient alert strategies.
  • Literature Review: Perform comprehensive reviews and analyses of scientific and technical published literature to support health agency requests, product submissions, formulary reviews, etc.
  • Bibliographic Expertise: Demonstrate sophisticated bibliographic expertise and information management skills.

Essential Requirements

  • Education: Doctor in Pharmacy or equivalent with a relevant scientific background, advanced Pharmacy degree, or advanced degree in Life Sciences such as Biology or Pharmacology.
  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of relevant pharma industry or research experience in information sciences, knowledge management, or corporate library operations.
  • Skills: Proven scientific literature searching skills, experience with pharmaceutical databases and resources, good communication and presentation skills. Preferred knowledge and experience in text mining, NLP, and Knowledge graphs.

Desirable Requirements

  • Learning Agility: High learning agility to adopt and implement the latest tools/technologies like AI, text mining, chat GPT, Knowledge graph, etc.
