Role Overview

This role involves handling health and safety calls, providing product safety information, and ensuring accurate documentation. The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and escalation protocols.


Key Responsibilities

Call Handling & Support

  • Answer calls at the Health and Safety Call Center

  • Handle inquiries involving both humans and animals

  • Collect caller demographic information

  • Provide product safety and first-aid guidance (non-diagnostic)

Documentation & Reporting

  • Accurately document adverse events and information calls

  • Maintain detailed records in the safety database

  • Monitor and identify trends related to product issues

Escalation & Follow-up

  • Determine when escalation is required

  • Escalate cases to appropriate staff or on-duty toxicologist

  • Notify Lead Toxicologist per guidelines

  • Conduct follow-ups to ensure no further health concerns

Customer Service & Quality

  • Deliver high-quality service to consumers and healthcare professionals

  • Continuously improve internal and external customer experience

  • Maintain quality standards in all processes

Additional Duties

  • Stay current with continuing education requirements

  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed


Qualifications

Required

  • EMT, Paramedic, Veterinary Technician, or equivalent

  • OR student pursuing an advanced medical degree

  • Basic computer and typing skills

  • Strong communication and listening skills

  • Professional telephone etiquette

Preferred

  • Current relevant license or certification

Work Schedule

  • Primarily second shift (US-based schedule)

  • Rotating weekends and some holidays
