Job Summary:
UCLA Health is hiring an Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to support clinical pharmacy operations across its award-winning hospitals in Los Angeles. As part of the pharmacy team, you will assist in drug distribution, sterile compounding, and Pyxis inventory management under the direct supervision of registered pharmacists. This role offers career growth and hands-on exposure in a premier inpatient healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with drug distribution and inpatient medication management
Pre-package medications and maintain medication inventories
Fill and manage Pyxis medstation units daily
Perform sterile IV and chemotherapy compounding
Maintain regulatory documentation including refrigerator temperature logs and hood cleaning
Handle pharmacy billing, housekeeping, and security-related functions
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Active California Pharmacy Technician license
Pharmacy Technician I: Less than 2 years of experience
Pharmacy Technician II: Minimum 2 years of inpatient experience
Knowledge of IV sterile compounding and chemotherapy preparation
Experience with automated medication systems (e.g., Pyxis) preferred
Attention to detail and ability to follow protocol in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
