Job Summary
UCLA Health is seeking a dedicated Inpatient Pharmacy Technician to support hospital pharmacy operations by managing drug distribution, Pyxis medstation inventory, sterile compounding, and related inpatient pharmaceutical activities. Key Responsibilities
Support drug distribution in inpatient settings under pharmacist supervision
Perform sterile IV and chemotherapy compounding
Replenish and audit Pyxis medstation inventory daily
Maintain logs for refrigerator temperatures, hood cleaning, and medication preparation
Handle packaging, labeling, billing, and housekeeping duties
Ensure medication security and accurate documentation
Rotate through different pharmacy areas based on departmental needs
Required Skills & Qualifications
Active Pharmacy Technician License (California)
Pharmacy Technician I: Less than 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience
Pharmacy Technician II: 2+ years of inpatient pharmacy experience
Proficiency in sterile compounding techniques and hospital pharmacy workflows
Familiarity with Pyxis or similar automated dispensing systems
Strong organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills
Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays
