Job Description

ICON plc is seeking a Junior Statistical Programmer (Associate Statistical Programmer) to join its clinical data and biostatistics team. In this role, you will support the development and validation of statistical programs used in clinical trials, helping to analyze complex medical data and generate reliable outputs for clinical research.

You will collaborate closely with statisticians and programmers to ensure accurate data analysis and contribute to the development of innovative treatments through high-quality clinical trial reporting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with statisticians and programmers to develop and validate statistical programs for clinical trial data analysis.

  • Assist in the preparation of statistical analysis plans and programming specifications.

  • Program, test, and document statistical analysis scripts in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Conduct quality control checks on statistical outputs to ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Support the preparation of clinical datasets, statistical tables, listings, and reports for regulatory submissions.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as SAS, R, or Python.

  • Basic understanding of clinical trial data structures and statistical methodologies.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.


Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with clinical data standards and regulatory guidelines.

  • Experience working with statistical programming tools in clinical research environments.

  • Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines in a collaborative team environment.

  • Strong attention to data quality and documentation standards.
