Job Description

ICON plc is seeking a Junior Statistician (Biostatistician I) to join its clinical research team. In this role, you will support statistical activities in clinical trials by analyzing research data, preparing statistical analysis plans, and contributing to the development of clinical study reports.

You will collaborate with statisticians, programmers, and clinical research teams to ensure accurate data analysis, regulatory compliance, and high-quality statistical deliverables for clinical studies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design of case report forms (CRFs) with a focus on statistical requirements.

  • Review study database structures, edit checks, and data management conventions to ensure data integrity.

  • Prepare statistical analysis plans (SAPs) including derived datasets, tables, figures, and listings.

  • Perform statistical analyses on clinical trial data to extract meaningful insights.

  • Interpret statistical results and communicate findings through clear data reporting.

  • Assist in writing statistical methods sections for integrated clinical study reports.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.


Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a related field.

  • 1+ year of experience in statistics or biostatistics within the pharmaceutical or clinical research industry.

  • Hands-on experience with R programming.

  • Knowledge of clinical trial methodologies and regulatory standards.


Preferred Skills

  • Strong understanding of clinical study designs and statistical analysis conventions.

  • Proficiency with statistical software such as SAS.

  • Ability to translate client research needs into statistical solutions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and project management abilities.
