Role Overview

The Laboratory Technician (Contract) supports chemical and physical testing in Abbott’s clinical and research labs. The role includes qualitative analysis of materials, liquids, and gases, setting up lab instrumentation, and assisting in research or process control. This position is ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in laboratory techniques and hands-on experience in testing and clinical support.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct chemical and physical tests and perform qualitative analysis of materials, liquids, and gases.

  • Set up and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for research or process control.

  • Serve as a primary resource for clinical support, troubleshooting, and in-service education related to Abbott products.

  • Educate customers and internal stakeholders on proper clinical usage of company products through presentations and demonstrations.

  • Assist licensed personnel in performing screening tests following laboratory policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate and divisional policies, SOPs, and safety guidelines.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: High school diploma in science or college-level science courses.

  • Experience: 2–5 years of related laboratory or clinical support experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Skills:

    • Working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and clinical procedures.

    • Strong organizational, communication, and troubleshooting abilities.

    • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
