Position Overview:
Sun Pharma is seeking an experienced Manager – Biotechnology with 8–12 years of experience in biologics and downstream process development. This role will lead the downstream group within the Biological Drug Substance Unit, overseeing process development, scale-up, and clinical batch production of recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish and lead the downstream group within the Biological Drug Substance Unit, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery of developed purification processes and clinical batches.
Design, plan, operate, and monitor downstream development activities, including scale-up and GMP production.
Apply expertise in downstream process development for large molecules, recombinant proteins, and monoclonal antibodies.
Operate and manage chromatographic systems, TFF systems, and filtration systems; interpret experimental and process data accurately.
Ensure effective scale-up of downstream processes with consistent analytical and operational outcomes.
Prepare and maintain documentation, including Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR), SOPs, investigational protocols, and reports.
Mentor and guide junior scientists or associates, providing scientific, technical, and process expertise on downstream processing.
Educational Requirements:
Master’s degree or PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related field
Experience Requirements:
8–12 years of experience in downstream process development, biologics manufacturing, or related R&D roles
Hands-on expertise in chromatography, filtration, and TFF systems
Proven experience in GMP production, scale-up, and process documentation
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and team management skills
Expertise in analytical and process data interpretation
Ability to mentor junior staff and provide scientific guidance
Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills
