Job Overview

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Manager I – Record-to-Report (R2R) Operations to support end-to-end accounting processes within the Global Controllership function. Based at the BMS Hyderabad Center of Excellence, this role requires strong expertise in R2R accounting, financial controls, and month-end close operations. The ideal candidate will bring sound technical knowledge, strong leadership, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a global finance environment.

This position follows a site-by-design model, requiring approximately 50% onsite work.


Key Responsibilities

Record-to-Report (R2R) Operations

  • Execute R2R period-end close activities, including account reconciliations, accruals, operational reporting, and quality control.

  • Manage and monitor month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities in alignment with the global close calendar.

  • Prepare scheduled balance sheet reconciliations and ensure compliance with internal control frameworks.

  • Collaborate with local market teams and third-party service providers to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

  • Monitor internal customer satisfaction and address issues promptly to maintain service excellence.

  • Conduct periodic audits, prepare management reports, and support disaster recovery procedures.

  • Lead and execute ad-hoc initiatives assigned by R2R leadership.

Relationship Management and Teaming

  • Uphold operational excellence by ensuring adherence to deadlines, accuracy, and quality standards.

  • Support the broader finance team with clear communication, coordination, and cross-functional alignment.

Risk Management

  • Identify and articulate material financial risks and opportunities within R2R operations.

  • Support in designing and executing risk mitigation plans, contingency strategies, and process improvements.


Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline.

Experience Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience for CA/CMA-qualified professionals.

  • 8+ years of experience for non-CA/CMA applicants.

  • Strong knowledge of R2R processes, financial controls, and organizational accounting practices.

  • Experience working in shared services, global finance operations, or multinational financial environments preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions and geographies.

  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end close procedures.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables with accuracy and transparency.

  • Proficiency in financial systems, ERP tools, and reconciliation platforms.

  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment.
