Role Summary
The Manager – Statistical Programming will lead a team of statistical programmers, ensuring high-quality project deliverables, effective resourcing, and client satisfaction. The role combines team leadership, project oversight, and contribution to business development initiatives, with responsibility for mentoring staff and maintaining regulatory and operational compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Team & Project Management:

  • Oversee team activities including staff assignments, resourcing, quality control, and timely delivery of project outputs.

  • Ensure all projects are optimally staffed with skilled professionals to meet client and business objectives.

  • Monitor productivity, billability, and staff turnover, implementing corrective actions as needed.

  • Participate in project bids and client presentations, supporting business development activities.

  • Serve as liaison between project teams, clients, and management regarding team performance and project status.

Staff Development & Leadership:

  • Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing statistical programming staff.

  • Provide technical support, training, and guidance to ensure team members meet performance standards.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and skill development initiatives.

  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and results-oriented work environment.

Project Delivery Oversight:

  • Ensure ongoing and revised project documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with Parexel SOPs and regulatory standards.

  • Support teams in prioritizing tasks, improving efficiency, and maintaining quality across multiple projects.

  • Act as senior-level contributor when required, managing personal deliverables with high quality and timeliness.

Client & Business Support:

  • Coordinate client or account activities as needed and participate in generating business leads through networking and presentations.

  • Maintain a client-focused approach to ensure expectations are met or exceeded.

  • Support audit readiness and compliance with regulatory requirements for statistical programming.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team across multiple projects in a global or matrix environment.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; experience in client presentations preferred.

  • Expertise in statistical programming, clinical data management, and regulatory compliance.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.

  • Proficient with Windows OS, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and statistical software.

  • Ability to lead a virtual or geographically dispersed team.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Statistics, or a related field; equivalent clinical or business qualifications acceptable.

  • 8–12 years of experience in statistical programming, clinical data management, or clinical research.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing teams and delivering projects in compliance with GCP, ICH, or relevant regulatory guidelines.

  • Competency in written and spoken English; local language skills are an advantage.
