Medical Affairs Specialist – Foster City, CA

Job Summary

Fladger Associates is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Affairs Specialist for a contract role in Foster City, CA. The ideal candidate will coordinate and manage Phase 4 research activities across LIVE therapeutic areas (liver, inflammation, emerging viruses, established products), contributing to ISR reviews, portfolio management, and compliance with regulatory standards. This is a prime opportunity for professionals experienced in clinical research, investigator-sponsored studies, and medical affairs operations to impact global healthcare initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee proposal reviews and portfolio management of ISR, collaborative research, and MA-led Company-sponsored studies.

  • Manage LIVE Research Committee meetings and coordinate proposal evaluations.

  • Develop and administer requests for proposals (RFPs).

  • Support external investigators and internal stakeholders during research proposal development.

  • Liaise with Clinical Operations, affiliates, and investigators for LIVE portfolio oversight.

  • Review and assess abstracts and manuscripts from Phase 4 research programs.

  • Ensure adherence to MA research policies, integrated evidence plans, and strategic priorities.

  • Monitor study progress and intervene on non-performing studies as needed.

  • Drive process improvement initiatives related to research proposal systems.

  • Complete assigned projects efficiently while anticipating potential obstacles.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Professional degree (PhD, PharmD) or Master's degree (MS, MPH) with 2+ years in clinical/observational research; OR Bachelor’s with 6+ years relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of FDA regulations, ICH guidelines, GCP standards for clinical trials.

  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.

  • Capability to work in a global cross-functional environment, handling different time zones.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proven execution of multiple concurrent projects within tight deadlines.

  • Self-motivated and collaborative team player.

  • Stakeholder management experience.

Preferred

  • Prior work in Medical Affairs/Pharmaceutical phase 4 research or Clinical Development.

  • Experience in LIVE therapeutic areas.
