Position Overview

Pediatric Associates is seeking an energetic and compassionate Medical Assistant for a part-time role in Winter Haven, FL. Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient experience and maintain a safe, clean office and exam rooms
Take and document patient vitals, including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate
Perform patient intake, including medical histories, allergies, medications, and more
Assist clinicians with various pediatric procedures like vision/hearing screenings, wound care, suture removal, and more
Administer vaccines, medications, and provide patient education on them
Manage vaccine cold-chain, ensuring proper handling, storage, and documentation
Follow up on patient care tasks, including phone calls, prescription refills, referrals, and documentation
Perform lab sample collection, phlebotomy, and process specimens as per policy
Maintain high patient care standards in line with organizational policies

Performance Requirements

Adhere to organizational information security and privacy policies
Ability to multitask, work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and maintain good relationships with patients, families, and colleagues
Proficient in electronic health records (EHR)

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent
Medical Assistant Certification or 3+ years of experience in a healthcare setting
Active BLS certification
Valid driver’s license required
1+ years of Medical Assistant experience preferred

Physical Demands

Standing, walking for long periods
Lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs
Pushing/pulling up to 200 lbs
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Occasional travel to other locations (15%-20%)
