Position Overview

Pediatric Associates is seeking an energetic and compassionate Medical Assistant for a part-time role in Winter Haven, FL. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient experience and maintain a safe, clean office and exam rooms
  • Take and document patient vitals, including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate
  • Perform patient intake, including medical histories, allergies, medications, and more
  • Assist clinicians with various pediatric procedures like vision/hearing screenings, wound care, suture removal, and more
  • Administer vaccines, medications, and provide patient education on them
  • Manage vaccine cold-chain, ensuring proper handling, storage, and documentation
  • Follow up on patient care tasks, including phone calls, prescription refills, referrals, and documentation
  • Perform lab sample collection, phlebotomy, and process specimens as per policy
  • Maintain high patient care standards in line with organizational policies

Performance Requirements

  • Adhere to organizational information security and privacy policies
  • Ability to multitask, work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and maintain good relationships with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Proficient in electronic health records (EHR)

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Medical Assistant Certification or 3+ years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Active BLS certification
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience preferred

Physical Demands

  • Standing, walking for long periods
  • Lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs
  • Pushing/pulling up to 200 lbs
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Occasional travel to other locations (15%-20%)
