As a Medical Coder specializing in Surgery Coding, you will be responsible for coding medical records with accuracy, ensuring compliance with ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding systems. You will handle records related to surgeries and ensure they are processed in line with productivity and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Code medical records accurately, assigning appropriate diagnosis and CPT codes per ICD-10 and CPT-4 guidelines.
  • Perform surgery coding with a minimum of 96% accuracy, adhering to turnaround time requirements.
  • Exceed productivity standards for surgery coding as per specific outpatient and inpatient norms.
  • Maintain high professional and ethical standards.
  • Continuously improve coding accuracy by engaging in ongoing training and educational conferences.
  • Contribute to projects focused on preventing revenue leakage and maintaining compliance with standards.

Job Requirements:

  • Graduates in life sciences with 1-4 years of experience in Surgery Coding.
  • Prior experience in surgery coding is essential.
  • Familiarity with CPT-4, ICD-9, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Certification in CCS/CPC/CPC-H/CIC/COC from AAPC/AHIMA is a plus.
  • Freshers with knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology are also encouraged to apply.
  • Valid coding certifications.
  • Strong understanding of medical coding systems, billing, regulatory requirements, and auditing concepts.
