Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implement updates from AMA, AHA, and CMS guidelines

  • Review and analyze medical records; add/modify CPT codes for minor surgeries, vaccines, and labs

  • Extract and code various screening CPT and HCPCS codes based on documentation

  • Verify NCCI edits and LCD/NCD determinations; modify ICD-10-CM, CPT codes, and modifiers accordingly

  • Collaborate as a team player, contributing to quality and productivity improvements

  • Organize and prioritize work to meet timelines and regulatory compliance

  • Maintain confidentiality and system security per HIPAA standards

  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and directives regarding employment terms and shifting business needs


Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree

  • Certified coder through AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, CCS, CIC, or COC — any one required)

  • Proof of valid certification ID must be provided during interview or offer stage

  • Strong understanding of:

    • Medical Terminology

    • Human Anatomy & Physiology

    • ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines

  • Familiarity with data system security and HIPAA compliance
