Job Responsibilities:

  • Audit medical records by reviewing and ascribing accurate diagnosis and CPT codes in compliance with ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding systems.
  • Perform coding and audits for outpatient and inpatient records with a minimum accuracy of 96%, adhering to turnaround time requirements.
  • Exceed productivity standards for medical coding, meeting productivity norms for both inpatient and specialty-specific outpatient coding.
  • Maintain high professional and ethical standards in all coding and auditing activities.
  • Focus on continuous improvement by working on projects that help clients address revenue leakage while ensuring compliance.
  • Stay updated on coding skills, knowledge, and accuracy by participating in team meetings and educational conferences.

Job Requirements:

  • Graduates in life sciences with 2-4 years of experience in medical coding for radiology.
  • Experience in medical coding audits and physician education, especially in radiology coding, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of coding procedures and medical terminology in an ambulatory setting.
  • Familiarity with CPT-4, ICD-9, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • CCS, CPC, CPC-H, CIC, or COC certification from AAPC/AHIMA is a plus.
  • Current coding certification with valid proof required.
  • Strong knowledge of medical coding and billing systems, regulatory requirements, auditing concepts, and principles.
