Job Title: Medical Coding Auditors - E&M and Emergency Department Coding

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audits of medical records to verify the accuracy of diagnosis and CPT codes as per ICD-10 and CPT-4 systems.
  • Perform coding and auditing for outpatient and inpatient records with a minimum accuracy of 96% and meet turnaround time requirements.
  • Exceed productivity standards for medical coding in both inpatient and specialty-specific outpatient settings.
  • Uphold a high level of professional and ethical standards in all coding activities.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to help clients reduce revenue leakage while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Stay current with coding knowledge and practices by participating in coding team meetings and educational conferences.

Job Requirements:

  • Graduates in life sciences with 1-4 years of experience in medical coding.
  • Experience in medical coding audits and physician education, preferably in E&M and Emergency Department coding, is a plus.
  • Knowledge of coding procedures and medical terminology in an ambulatory setting.
  • Familiarity with CPT-4, ICD-9, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • CCS, CPC, CPC-H, CIC, or COC certification from AAPC/AHIMA is an advantage.
  • Freshers with strong knowledge in medical terminology, human anatomy, and physiology can apply.
  • Current coding certification with valid proof required.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical coding and billing systems, regulatory requirements, and auditing principles.
