Role Overview: Associate Analyst – Medical Coder
R1 is seeking Certified Freshers in Medical Coding with active certifications such as CPC, CPC-A, CIC, CCS, or COC. This role involves reviewing patient medical records for both Inpatient (IP) and Outpatient (OP) cases, assigning accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes, and ensuring proper sequencing in compliance with government and insurance regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for diagnoses and procedures in inpatient and outpatient medical records.
Ensure codes are accurate, complete, and sequenced correctly according to regulatory and payer guidelines.
Follow up with providers to clarify insufficient or ambiguous documentation.
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate coding and documentation.
Conduct detailed review of patient charts, previous batches, and complex cases.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Support team productivity by completing daily coding assignments with high accuracy and efficiency.
Eligibility & Experience Requirements
Education: Any Graduate.
Certifications: Active CPC, CPC-A, CIC, CCS, or COC from AHIMA or AAPC.
Experience: Freshers with certifications are welcome; prior exposure to medical coding practices is a plus.
Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
