Job Overview
R1 RCM India is hiring experienced Medical Coders – Outpatient (OP) to support its expanding healthcare revenue cycle operations. This role is ideal for certified professionals with strong expertise in ICD-10 and CPT coding, who can accurately review and validate medical documentation in compliance with regulatory and payer guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
Review outpatient medical records and assign accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes
Validate diagnosis and procedure coding to ensure compliance with government and insurance regulations
Ensure proper code sequencing and documentation accuracy
Query providers for clarification when medical documentation is incomplete or unclear
Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve coding-related queries
Review daily patient charts and previous batches for quality and consistency
Research complex or unusual coding scenarios as required
Ensure usage of current and active coding guidelines and code sets
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Any Graduate (required)
Certifications (Mandatory):
CPC / CPC-A / CIC / CCS / COC (AHIMA or AAPC certified)
Experience:
3–7 years of hands-on experience in Outpatient Medical Coding
Technical & Professional Skills:
Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and outpatient coding guidelines
Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
Ability to independently review and validate complex medical records
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Flexibility to work from office or home based on business requirements
