Role Summary

The Medical Education Specialist is responsible for planning, designing, coordinating, and executing medical education programs for healthcare professionals in India. The role supports business unit training strategies by developing educational calendars, engaging with HCPs, identifying faculty and future trainers, managing events, ensuring compliance, and delivering high-quality medical education programs across virtual, hybrid, and face-to-face formats.


Key Responsibilities

Medical Education Planning

  • Understand assigned business unit strategy and create aligned training calendars.

  • Develop annual needs assessment plans and course schedules.

  • Identify medical education requirements for orthopedic professionals.

  • Plan programs for safe and effective use of Zimmer Biomet products.

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Engage with HCP consultants, younger HCPs, faculty, and customers.

  • Identify potential future trainers and faculty speakers.

  • Maintain strong relationships with medical education stakeholders.

Program Design & Execution

  • Design and implement medical education programs.

  • Develop detailed course agendas with relevant faculty.

  • Manage program execution from concept to completion.

  • Support virtual, face-to-face, and hybrid learning formats.

Event Management

  • Travel to medical education events for execution and evaluation.

  • Coordinate with vendors for logistics, hospitality, AV support, and event management.

  • Ensure programs are delivered within approved timelines and budgets.

  • Provide written and verbal feedback on faculty performance.

Budget & Vendor Management

  • Prepare and manage program budgets.

  • Monitor vendor costs and ensure cost efficiency.

  • Ensure accurate budget planning and expense tracking.

  • Work with coordinators to optimize event operations.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all internal approvals are completed before program execution.

  • Maintain proper documentation for all medical education activities.

  • Ensure adherence to compliance, legal, and regulatory standards.

  • Conduct programs with integrity and without inappropriate business influence.

Program Evaluation & Improvement

  • Evaluate course formats, faculty, content, and training outcomes.

  • Analyze feedback to improve future programs.

  • Stay updated on competitor activities and relevant market developments.

  • Support continuous improvement in medical education delivery.


Required Qualifications

Education

  • Tertiary education / Graduate degree in a relevant field.


Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in:

    • Medical Education

    • Healthcare Events

    • Training Program Management

    • Event Administration

    • Healthcare Industry Operations
