Role Overview
The Medical Monitor / Medical Director – Dermatologist provides medical oversight and therapeutic expertise for assigned clinical studies in dermatology. This role serves as the primary medical contact for internal teams, study sponsors, and clinical sites, ensuring subject safety, protocol adherence, and scientific integrity of clinical trials.
The Medical Monitor also contributes to protocol design, data collection, monitoring plans, and site feasibility, while supporting Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance activities.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Oversight & Medical Input
Provide medical oversight for assigned dermatology studies, serving as the primary point of contact for sponsors and internal teams.
Review clinical protocols, protocol amendments, and study start-up materials.
Deliver therapeutic and protocol-specific training to project teams, site staff, and sponsor personnel.
Support feasibility and subject identification, including review of informed consent forms and site assessments.
Data & Safety Monitoring
Oversee Medical Scientists and colleagues in data review to identify trends, safety signals, or risks.
Provide after-hours medical coverage for clinical trials.
Ensure adherence to FDA regulations, ICH GCP guidelines, and company SOPs.
Collaboration & Leadership
Interact with internal teams, sponsors, and stakeholders to address study needs and provide solutions.
Support responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) or Bid Defense Meetings (BDMs) as required.
Represent the Company at scientific meetings or conferences, as needed.
Required Qualifications
Medical degree with specialization in Dermatology.
Experience in clinical research, medical monitoring, or clinical development oversight.
Strong knowledge of drug development, clinical trial design, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities.
Travel: Minimal, as required for business or audit meetings.
