Medical Research Associate – ICON plc – Salt Lake City, UT

Job Summary:
ICON plc, a global leader in healthcare intelligence and clinical research, is hiring a Medical Research Associate for its Salt Lake City location. This full-time role involves hands-on interaction with clinical trial participants, including checking vitals, performing phlebotomy, and ensuring protocol compliance. Ideal for candidates with at least 1 year of clinical or medical field experience, this opportunity offers a pathway into a meaningful and rewarding clinical research environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and guide clinical research participants upon arrival

  • Measure and record vital signs (height, weight, BMI, blood pressure)

  • Perform phlebotomy in accordance with study protocols

  • Monitor participant well-being during clinical trial activities

  • Escort and assist participants during study breaks

  • Follow clinical procedures and regulatory compliance guidelines

  • Attend meetings and contribute to study-related assignments


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical or clinical setting preferred

  • Phlebotomy and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications are a plus

  • Backgrounds such as Medical Assistant, CNA, Medication Aide, Telemetry Technician, or Laboratory Technician are highly desirable

  • Excellent communication in English

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols
