Role Overview

The MSL serves as a scientific liaison between Bayer and healthcare professionals, particularly Thought Leaders (TLs – Doctors). The role focuses on disseminating scientific, educational, and research-related information, engaging with medical societies, advisory boards, and congresses, and providing scientific support and training aligned with Bayer’s Medical Affairs strategy.


Primary Responsibilities

Scientific Exchange & Education:

  • Engage with TLs proactively and reactively to disseminate and clarify scientific data, study protocols, abstracts, and literature.

  • Respond to unsolicited off-label queries in alignment with local regulations.

Medical Society & Advisory Board Interactions:

  • Answer medical/scientific queries from Medical Societies.

  • Organize, support, and participate in advisory boards.

Congress & Convention Participation:

  • Attend congresses and conventions, interact with TLs, establish contacts, and gather competitive intelligence.

Scientific Education Coordination:

  • Plan and organize scientific training sessions with TLs within assigned therapeutic areas or products.

TL Identification & Engagement Strategy:

  • Contribute to profiling TL interests and expertise.

  • Align engagement activities with the product Medical Affairs plan.

Reporting & Tracking:

  • Submit timely activity reports and track engagement against objectives.

Secondary Activities:

  • Provide additional scientific support, training, and education not covered in primary activities.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Educational Qualification: Degree in Natural Sciences or Medical background (MD / MBBS / BAMS / BDS / MDS).

  • Basic knowledge of the relevant therapy area and molecules.

  • Understanding of clinical trial design and rationale.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
