Job Overview
Bayer is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to support medical affairs activities by engaging with key healthcare professionals and thought leaders within specific therapeutic areas. The MSL serves as a scientific expert who communicates clinical evidence, research data, and product-related scientific information to healthcare professionals while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.

This role focuses on building strong relationships with medical experts, supporting scientific exchange, and facilitating evidence-based discussions related to Bayer products, clinical research, and therapeutic advancements.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Exchange and Medical Communication

  • Engage with Thought Leaders (TLs), including physicians and medical experts, to exchange scientific and research-based information related to Bayer therapies.

  • Provide accurate dissemination and clarification of scientific data, clinical trial information, study protocols, meeting abstracts, and peer-reviewed literature.

  • Conduct proactive on-label scientific discussions and respond to unsolicited off-label questions in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Medical Society and Advisory Board Engagement

  • Respond to scientific queries from medical societies and healthcare professionals regarding Bayer products.

  • Support the planning, coordination, and participation in advisory board meetings and scientific discussions with key experts.

Congress and Scientific Meeting Participation

  • Attend national and international medical congresses, conferences, and conventions.

  • Network with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals to strengthen scientific collaborations.

  • Gather insights and competitive intelligence from scientific discussions and industry events.

Scientific Education and Training

  • Plan and organize scientific education programs, workshops, and training sessions for healthcare professionals within relevant therapeutic areas.

  • Support medical education initiatives that enhance awareness of clinical data and therapeutic advancements.

Thought Leader Engagement Strategy

  • Identify, profile, and segment Thought Leaders based on expertise and influence within the medical community.

  • Contribute insights to the Medical Affairs strategy by understanding Thought Leader interests, research priorities, and clinical perspectives.

Reporting and Activity Tracking

  • Maintain accurate records of scientific interactions, activities, and engagement outcomes.

  • Submit timely reports aligned with medical affairs objectives and compliance standards.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide external scientific support, training, and educational resources to healthcare professionals when required.

  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing within medical affairs and cross-functional teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Educational qualification in natural sciences or a medical degree such as MD, MBBS, BAMS, BDS, or MDS.

  • Basic understanding of the relevant therapeutic area and associated pharmaceutical products.

  • Knowledge of clinical trials, study design, and the rationale behind clinical research.

  • Strong ability to communicate complex scientific information clearly and effectively.

  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

  • Strong relationship-building skills with healthcare professionals and medical experts.
