Position Summary

R1 RCM is seeking experienced Medical Transcriptionists / Medical Editors for Analyst and Senior Analyst roles. The selected professionals will be responsible for accurate and timely transcription and editing of physician dictations across multiple medical specialties, ensuring compliance with quality standards, client requirements, and turnaround time commitments.

This role is ideal for certified and experienced medical transcription professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, technology-enabled healthcare environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality medical transcription and editing of clinical dictations across diverse medical specialties.

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to medical terminology, style guidelines, and client-specific requirements.

  • Work on multiple transcription platforms, ensuring timely delivery and quality output.

  • Collaborate closely with team members and managers to ensure adequate client coverage and workflow continuity.

  • Manage multiple site-specific requirements and multitask efficiently in a high-volume environment.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and healthcare data in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.

  • Meet productivity, quality, and turnaround time benchmarks consistently.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Undergraduate, Graduate, or Postgraduate qualification in any discipline.

  • Experience Required:

    • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or Medical Editor.

    • Prior exposure to multiple medical specialties and report types is mandatory.

    • Certification in medical transcription is preferred.


Technical & Functional Skills

  • Proficiency in transcription platforms such as eScription, eSone/M*Modal, and Fluency.

  • Familiarity with additional transcription tools and platforms is an advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, editing standards, and transcription workflows.

  • Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.

  • Strong written English skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to coordinate effectively with managers and cross-functional teams.


Work Environment & Flexibility

  • Willingness to work in a 24/7 rotational shift environment, with a majority of shifts during evenings or nights.

  • Flexibility to take weekly offs on non-weekend days, as per business requirements.
