Role Overview
The Medical Writer II plays a key role in authoring, editing, and coordinating high-quality clinical, regulatory, and scientific content. This position focuses on manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations while mentoring junior writers and ensuring compliance with regulatory, journal, and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end medical writing for clinical manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and oral presentations.

  • Manage workflow in PubConnect, publication plans, author approvals, submission activities, and pre-submission queries.

  • Compile, write, and edit scientific deliverables with minimal supervision.

  • Ensure scientific content accuracy, clarity, consistency, and proper formatting by reviewing statistical analysis plans, tables, figures, and listings.

  • Serve as peer reviewer and mentor for junior writers on document preparation and workflow management.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including biostatistics, data management, regulatory, and medical affairs to finalize deliverables.

  • Perform clinical literature searches and stay current with regulatory and journal guidelines.

  • Maintain documentation, track project budgets, and complete administrative tasks on time.

  • Support training initiatives and develop guidance materials for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Minimal travel required (up to 25%).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • 2–5 years of medical writing experience in clinical research, regulatory submissions, or publications.

  • Strong writing, editing, and scientific communication skills.

  • Familiarity with publication planning tools (e.g., Datavision, PubConnect, VeevaVault PromoMats).

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards, journal/congress guidelines, and clinical data interpretation.

  • Ability to mentor junior staff and provide peer review on complex scientific documents.

  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills.
