Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and scientifically driven Medical Writer – Senior Executive to join our growing healthcare communications team. This role combines scientific expertise, strategic thinking, and creative storytelling to develop compelling healthcare content for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare brands.

The successful candidate will transform complex medical and scientific information into clear, accurate, engaging, and compliant communication materials that support brand strategy, healthcare professional education, and patient engagement initiatives.

Working closely with creative, medical, editorial, account management, and project management teams, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality healthcare marketing and medical communication solutions.


Key Responsibilities

Medical & Scientific Content Development

  • Create scientifically accurate and strategically aligned content for healthcare and pharmaceutical brands.

  • Translate complex clinical and scientific information into engaging communication materials.

  • Develop content across multiple formats and channels while ensuring medical accuracy and regulatory compliance.

  • Adapt scientific content for various target audiences including healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and internal stakeholders.


Creative Copywriting

  • Develop compelling promotional and educational copy that aligns with brand objectives.

  • Contribute innovative ideas and concepts for healthcare marketing campaigns.

  • Produce engaging messaging that balances scientific rigor with creative excellence.

  • Support integrated communication initiatives across digital, print, and omnichannel platforms.


Scientific Research & Literature Review

  • Conduct comprehensive research on:

    • Disease States

    • Therapeutic Areas

    • Clinical Studies

    • Treatment Guidelines

    • Market Trends

    • Scientific Publications

  • Stay current with emerging scientific developments relevant to assigned brands.

  • Evaluate and interpret clinical data to support content development.


Medical Referencing & Annotation

  • Accurately reference and annotate all content according to agency and client standards.

  • Ensure all scientific claims are supported by credible evidence.

  • Maintain documentation of references and source materials.

  • Collaborate with editorial teams to verify scientific accuracy and compliance.


Regulatory & Compliance Support

  • Prepare materials for:

    • Medical Review

    • Legal Review

    • Regulatory Approval Processes

  • Ensure all content complies with:

    • Industry Regulations

    • Client Requirements

    • Medical-Legal Standards

    • Promotional Guidelines

  • Address reviewer comments and revise materials as required.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with:

    • Medical Writers

    • Senior Medical Writers

    • Editors

    • Art Directors

    • Account Managers

    • Project Managers

    • Creative Teams

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and creative development meetings.

  • Support integrated campaign development from concept through execution.


Brand & Client Support

  • Develop a strong understanding of assigned brands, products, and therapeutic areas.

  • Support brand strategy through scientifically sound content development.

  • Contribute to client presentations and project discussions.

  • Assist in addressing client feedback and content revisions.


Market Research & Insights

  • Support development of market research materials.

  • Review and interpret research findings to inform communication strategies.

  • Participate in research discussions and workshops when required.

  • Help create materials for message testing and audience evaluation.


Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all deliverables meet agency quality standards.

  • Review content for:

    • Accuracy

    • Clarity

    • Consistency

    • Compliance

    • Brand Alignment

  • Work collaboratively with editorial teams to maintain excellence across all communications.


Required Qualifications

Education

Mandatory

Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following:

  • Pharmacy (B.Pharm)

  • Life Sciences

  • Biotechnology

  • Biomedical Sciences

  • Medicine

  • Nursing

  • Related Scientific Discipline

Preferred

  • M.Pharm

  • PharmD

  • MSc (Life Sciences)

  • Related Advanced Scientific Degrees
