We are currently hiring a Medical Writer – Specialist to join our Omnicom Health Group within the Creative Services business unit.

Role Overview
The Medical Writer – Specialist will manage end-to-end scientific and medical content development, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment with brand and regulatory guidelines (including AMA and client-specific standards). This role requires strong scientific acumen, advanced writing skills, and the ability to translate complex clinical data into compelling, audience-appropriate content.

You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including creative teams, strategy, regulatory, and client partners to deliver high-quality, compliant healthcare communications across digital and print platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and edit medical and scientific content for healthcare professionals, patients, and consumer audiences.

  • Translate clinical studies, product monographs, and scientific publications into clear, engaging marketing and educational materials.

  • Ensure all content adheres to brand strategy, creative briefs, and regulatory standards.

  • Conduct literature reviews and comprehensive research using platforms such as PubMed.

  • Perform referencing, annotation, proofreading, and fact-checking to maintain accuracy and compliance.

  • Guide and mentor junior medical writers; conduct quality control checks on team deliverables.

  • Support modular content creation and omnichannel marketing initiatives, including development of content matrices and core claims documentation.

  • Collaborate in client meetings and internal discussions to align deliverables with project objectives.

  • Contribute to proposal development and new business ideation when required.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.

Education & Experience Required

  • Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or related scientific discipline (or equivalent qualification).

  • 8–12 years of professional experience in medical writing, healthcare advertising, or pharmaceutical communications.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare and pharmaceutical advertising requirements.

  • Proven expertise in reviewing and interpreting clinical research documents and scientific literature.

  • Experience mentoring junior writers or leading content review processes preferred.

Technical Skills & Tools

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint).

  • Reference management tools such as EndNote.

  • Familiarity with Veeva Vault preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of PubMed and medical literature databases.

  • Preferred certifications: CMPP (Certified Medical Publication Professional), AMWA Medical Writing Certification, or equivalent.
