Role Overview

The Occupational Health Nurse III (OHN III) is responsible for coordinating clinical research and occupational health activities, performing phlebotomy, specimen handling, and supporting study protocols while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role demands accuracy, clinical expertise, and strong organizational skills to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate clinical research activities, ensuring adherence to study protocols and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform specimen collection including venous and capillary blood draws.

  • Conduct fresh specimen collection and sample testing using analyzers twice per week.

  • Maintain accurate study documentation and ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Documentation Practice (GDP).

  • Support multidisciplinary teams in managing study schedules and laboratory operations.

  • Collect and handle blood specimens from internal donors, including Abbott employees and contract workers.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Certified Phlebotomist (national certification or equivalent required).

  • Experience: 2–3 years in blood collection, specimen handling, and clinical sample testing.

  • Familiarity with GCP, GDP, and clinical research protocols.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research or clinical setting.
