Job Overview

A leading global healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Patient Access Manager to drive strategic and operational leadership across patient access initiatives within an assigned geographic territory. This role is critical in ensuring seamless reimbursement navigation, patient support optimization, and market access execution for neuroscience products.

The Patient Access Manager will lead a team of Patient Access Specialists, ensuring high-performance execution across benefits investigation, prior authorization processes, medical benefit strategy, and compliance adherence. This position requires a strong background in reimbursement strategy, managed care, specialty pharmacy channels, and CMS policy frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop Patient Access Specialists to achieve and exceed regional business objectives.

  • Build and retain high-performing teams focused on reimbursement education and customer-centric delivery.

  • Establish clear performance metrics aligned with market access goals and compliance standards.

Reimbursement & Market Access Execution

  • Oversee benefits investigation and prior authorization processes for neuroscience therapies.

  • Support field teams in navigating Medicare Part B and medical benefit reimbursement pathways.

  • Provide expertise in specialty pharmacy channel operations and CMS policies.

  • Guide the appropriate and compliant use of patient healthcare information (PHI).

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and healthcare regulatory frameworks.

  • Ensure all team activities align with legal, compliance, and corporate governance requirements.

  • Conduct ongoing compliance training and monitoring within the territory.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with commercial, medical, and payer stakeholders to optimize patient access strategies.

  • Reinforce a customer-driven culture focused on improving patient therapy access.

  • Support successful product launches by implementing territory-specific access strategies.

Operational Excellence

  • Monitor performance analytics and reimbursement trends to refine access strategies.

  • Provide real-time field insights to leadership for continuous process improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Life Sciences, Business, or related field.

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in reimbursement, contract strategy, managed care sales, medical benefit (Part B), or pharmaceutical/healthcare market access.

  • Proven experience within specialty pharmacy distribution channels.

  • Strong knowledge of CMS policy and reimbursement processes.

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.

  • Ability to travel overnight up to 75%.

  • Must reside within the assigned territory boundaries.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PharmD, or related field).

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in field reimbursement or patient access management.

  • Experience in CNS (Central Nervous System) therapeutic area.

  • Demonstrated success in managing complex payer landscapes and multi-stakeholder environments.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual Base Salary Range: $175,000 – $185,000 (Final compensation based on qualifications and experience.)
