Position Overview

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an experienced Sales Development Manager – Life Sciences to drive market growth for cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) and electron microscopy solutions within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic research sectors. This role is critical in expanding market presence, developing strategic customer relationships, and delivering sustainable pipeline and revenue growth across India and the OSA region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive market expansion for cryoTEM, TEM, SEM, and FIB electron microscopy solutions within the life sciences, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology segments.

  • Lead sales development initiatives to generate pipeline and bookings growth for electron microscopy products.

  • Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and application teams to position advanced technologies, workflows, and solutions effectively.

  • Educate customers on new products, applications, and emerging technologies across academia and industry.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, research institutions, and commercial customers.

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis using industry conferences, microscopy societies, digital platforms, and social media channels.

  • Plan, execute, and present at conferences, workshops, trade shows, webinars, and customer events.

  • Support localization and adaptation of marketing and presentation materials for regional markets.

  • Train and enable sales teams on product applications, competitive positioning, and customer value propositions.

  • Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific with professionalism, integrity, and a strong customer-centric mindset.

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Master’s degree in Structural Biology, Protein Science, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related discipline; PhD preferred.

  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with cryo-electron microscopy or electron microscopy technologies.

  • Strong technical understanding of cryo-EM workflows and their application in life science research.

  • Prior experience in sales development, business development, or capital equipment sales is highly desirable.

  • Proven ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, compelling value propositions for diverse audiences.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting at scientific and commercial forums.

  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and project management capabilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, multicultural, and international teams.

  • High level of professional integrity with a strong commitment to improving customer outcomes.

  • Willingness and flexibility to travel up to 60%, primarily within India and the OSA region.
