Job Overview

PharMerica, a non-retail pharmacy focused on exceptional customer service for hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, long-term acute care centers, and other specialized care centers nationwide, is seeking a motivated pharmacist. This role provides an opportunity to grow your pharmaceutical skills under the guidance of a state-licensed pharmacist and contribute essential care to patients in a closed-door pharmacy.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday: Rotating shifts from 7:00am - 3:00pm, 10:30am - 6:30pm, and 11:30am - 7:30pm.
  • Rotating Saturdays: 8:00am - 4:00pm
  • Rotating Sundays: 8:00am - 2:00pm

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness, dosage, interactions, and route of administration.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams, making recommendations for therapy changes as appropriate.
  • Maintain a patient database with medical and clinical data.
  • Ensure lab tests are ordered and evaluated for high-risk conditions.
  • Document communication with healthcare professionals and patients/residents.
  • Implement policies for safe procurement, storage, distribution, and disposal of drugs.
  • Assist with safe administration of medications and resolve errors.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy; PharmD preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum one year in long-term care.
  • Licensing: Required as per government regulations.
  • Skills: Detail-oriented, goal-oriented, team player, excellent oral communication.
