Purpose:
Scientific data and information are central to our mission at Lilly. This role supports the preparation of high-quality scientific publications (e.g., abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and presentations) across the drug development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with regulatory, scientific, and stakeholder expectations.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Content Strategy and Document Management:
Collect, evaluate, and integrate data from multiple sources to define content strategies for writing projects.
Prepare, draft, edit, and finalize scientific publications, ensuring data clarity, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
Conduct kick-off meetings to align teams and objectives.
Build scientifically sound rationales and ensure consistent data presentation across documents.
Facilitate expert/scientific reviews and incorporate reviewer feedback.
Manage document quality checks and archiving processes.
2. Project and Stakeholder Management:
Lead the writing process with effective project management, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality publications.
Develop credible project timelines, mitigate risks, and escalate issues appropriately.
Maintain clear and effective communication with teams and stakeholders on project status.
3. Knowledge Development:
Stay current on therapeutic area knowledge, publication guidelines, and technological advancements.
Adapt across multiple document types, therapeutic areas, and compounds based on project needs.
Maintain awareness of competitor activity and industry trends.
4. Knowledge Sharing:
Provide mentorship and coaching to team members on writing processes and best practices.
Share technical expertise and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Serve as a resource for database and document management system expertise.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Education: Master’s degree in a scientific field.
Experience: Proven experience in writing scientific publications.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
Successful completion of a writing exercise (mandatory part of the evaluation process).
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degrees (PhD, MD, PharmD, MA, MBBS) in relevant disciplines like health outcomes, public health, epidemiology, or related sciences.
Expertise in clinical development, health economics, pharmacoeconomics, and regulatory activities.
Therapeutic area knowledge (e.g., neuroscience, oncology, cardiovascular, immunology, or endocrinology).
Proficiency in end-user computer applications (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience in critical appraisal of scientific literature and raw data.
