Role Overview

The Quality Specialist 1 – Healthcare Quality is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems, processes, and compliance mechanisms to ensure that GE Healthcare products meet both internal standards and external regulatory requirements. This role focuses on driving a culture of quality, supporting product and process improvements, and ensuring that deliverables across software and hardware products comply with Design Control and Quality Management System (QMS) standards.

As a key contributor, you will work closely with product engineering, cross-functional teams, and regulatory bodies to ensure projects are executed with precision, safety, and compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Management: Implement and maintain quality systems, rules, and processes to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations (ISO 13485, FDA, EUMDD/MDR).

  • Compliance & Risk Management: Drive compliance activities across products, sites, and business areas. Identify non-conformance issues and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Process Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing product failures, developing effective remediation plans, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

  • Collaboration & Guidance: Provide informal guidance to team members, communicate technical information clearly, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records, quality metrics, and compliance documentation; prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Customer & Regulatory Interface: Serve as the interface for external agencies, ensuring quality standards are communicated and upheld.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: Minimum 4+ years in Quality & Healthcare Quality roles within regulated industries.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field (or high school diploma with substantial relevant experience).

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical device QMS requirements, FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and IEC 62304 standards.
