About the Role

The R&D Knowledge and Learning Manager – Planning & Measurement Support plays a strategic role in enabling global medical learning initiatives at Amgen. This position supports the U.S.-based Therapeutic Area (TA) and Product Knowledge & Learning (K&L) team, which leads product learning strategy and execution across therapeutic areas.

The role focuses on learning planning enablement, coordination, and measurement, ensuring effective delivery and continuous improvement of global medical and scientific training programs, including congress-related learning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support TA/Product Knowledge & Learning teams by enabling structured planning and measurement aligned with Global Medical priorities and approved learning strategies.

  • Translate learning strategies into detailed execution plans, including timelines, milestones, dependencies, and tracking mechanisms.

  • Coordinate learner insights and planning inputs to support global medical training needs across therapeutic areas and products.

  • Design, deploy, and analyze surveys to assess learner needs, training readiness, and post-training effectiveness.

  • Define, monitor, and evaluate learning metrics such as participation, satisfaction, engagement, and knowledge uptake.

  • Develop dashboards, reports, and insight summaries to support data-driven decision-making and learning optimization.

  • Support planning and measurement activities for congress-related training programs, including pre- and post-congress assessments.

  • Maintain integrated learning calendars, trackers, and governance documentation to ensure visibility and alignment.

  • Identify risks, gaps, and continuous improvement opportunities related to learning plans and measurement outcomes.

  • Ensure compliance with Amgen learning standards, governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Doctorate degree with 6+ years of experience in clinical, scientific, or medical affairs, OR

  • Master’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience, OR

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or medicine.

  • Experience supporting learning planning, measurement, and analytics within R&D or Global Medical environments.

  • Proven ability to design, deploy, and interpret learning effectiveness surveys and performance metrics.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and stakeholder communication skills.

  • Experience working in a global, matrixed environment supporting medical or scientific training programs.
