Role Overview

The Release Manager – Medidata Clinical Data Management Systems will be responsible for overseeing release management, system integrations, and service transition activities for clinical applications within the Healthcare R&D IT landscape. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely, compliant, and high-quality software releases across clinical systems, with a strong focus on Medidata platforms.

The position combines release management, interface management, and project transition responsibilities, ensuring smooth delivery from project execution into steady-state service operations while maintaining compliance with GxP and non-GxP requirements.


Key Responsibilities

Release and Project Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage end-to-end release schedules for clinical applications, ensuring clear communication of timelines and deliverables to all stakeholders.

  • Design and implement release management models, integration concepts, hypercare frameworks, and go-live strategies.

  • Support ongoing project activities and lead the successful transition of projects into service delivery.

Quality, Compliance, and Change Management

  • Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance teams to ensure comprehensive testing and resolution of defects prior to deployment.

  • Implement structured change and release management processes to minimize business disruption and ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Ensure adherence to GxP and non-GxP standards, including validation and qualification processes.

  • Maintain detailed release documentation, including release notes, deployment plans, and rollback procedures.

Stakeholder and Vendor Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders regarding release, integration, and interface-related queries.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business teams, technical teams, and external vendors.

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless integration across clinical systems.

  • Conduct regular stakeholder reviews to assess service performance, satisfaction, and improvement opportunities.

Leadership and Delivery Excellence

  • Provide leadership and guidance to internal project teams and external consultants.

  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and accountability in meeting delivery timelines and quality expectations.

  • Work effectively with global, virtual teams across multiple time zones and cultures.


Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Release Management, Project Management, or related roles.

  • Proven experience working within Healthcare, Life Sciences, or regulated technology environments.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Medidata Clinical Data Management systems (mandatory).

  • Demonstrated experience managing cloud-based applications and complex stakeholder environments.

  • Solid understanding of GxP regulations, validation, and qualification processes.

  • Practical experience in Change and Release Management frameworks.


Technical and Professional Skills

  • Strong understanding of clinical application integrations and interface management.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and infrastructure; experience with AWS, Snowflake, and service management tools is an advantage.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong command of English.

  • Proven ability to manage complex delivery requirements in fast-paced environments.

  • High level of independence, initiative, and problem-solving capability.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across business and technical teams.
