Per Diem Pharmacist - Nuvem’s Pharmacy Management Team (Cincinnati, OH)

About Nuvem’s Pharmacy Management Team:

Nuvem's Pharmacy is seeking a compassionate and patient-centric pharmacist to join our pharmacy team at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Cincinnati, OH. As a per-diem pharmacist, you will have the opportunity to manage pharmacy operations in a retail pharmacy-style setting with a Monday through Friday schedule. You’ll engage with healthcare providers and clinical staff to enhance patient care, educate patients, and manage pharmacy services in accordance with our goals of providing top-quality, patient-focused healthcare.

Position Overview:

  • Location: Cincinnati, OH (Federally Qualified Health Center)
  • Schedule: Flexible per-diem schedule; hours may include:
    • Mon-Wed: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
    • Thurs: 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM
    • Fri: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
    • No major holidays or weekends

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Patient Education: Provide medication counseling and support to patients to ensure they understand their prescriptions, proper medication use, and compliance.
  • Staff Management: Oversee and guide pharmacy staff, including technicians and other pharmacists, providing education and support to address knowledge gaps and improve performance.
  • Pharmacy Operations: Ensure smooth pharmacy operations, including:
    • Patient safety and medication safety protocols.
    • Compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Quality assurance and customer service.
    • Managing inventory and financial profitability.
    • Loss prevention and workflow management.
  • Clinical Involvement: Actively participate in patient care teams, attend clinical meetings, and collaborate with providers and clinical staff to optimize patient health outcomes.
  • Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with HIPAA regulations and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse credentialing. Ensure that all operations are compliant with Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.

Education and Certifications:

  • Required: Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited university.
  • Licensing/Certification: Must have valid pharmacy license as required by state regulations.
  • Preferred: Experience with 340B programs (not required).

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • 3+ years of pharmacy experience (preferred).
  • Experience in a retail pharmacy setting is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional patient service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a team and create a positive and enthusiastic work environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Fine motor skills required for repetitive tasks (e.g., using a keyboard or phone).
  • Ability to hear, speak, and write effectively in a clinical setting.
