The Research Scientist - Chemical Research is responsible for the development and innovation of pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediates. The role involves advanced synthesis techniques, process development, impurity characterization, and ensuring scale-up feasibility for commercialization. The key objective is to support the organization's research goals while ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to best practices.
Development of Chemical Molecules: Conduct research and development activities focused on pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediates, with expertise in multi-step synthesis, Diketene chemistry, heterocyclic chemistry, and vapor-phase reactions.
Process Development: Develop and optimize chemical processes at the gram scale. Support scale-up efforts to ensure commercial feasibility and smooth transition from lab scale to production. Contribute to technology package preparation, process optimization, and plant support.
Impurity Isolation & Characterization: Synthesize impurities and isolate them for further analysis. Perform impurity characterization and data interpretation using advanced techniques such as NMR, Mass Spectrometry, etc.
Research & Literature Search: Conduct comprehensive literature searches, route scouting, and process innovation. Investigate new chemical routes and technologies to improve product development.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with GLP (Good Laboratory Practices), maintain safety standards in handling hazardous chemicals, and adhere to environmental and safety guidelines. Conduct effluent minimization and recyclability studies.
Collaboration & Teamwork: Collaborate with cross-functional teams for process optimization, scale-up activities, and commercialization. Support teamwork across various departments, contributing to a cohesive R&D environment.
Project Support: Assist in MOC (Management of Change) studies, effluent studies, and economization to improve operational efficiency and sustainability.
