Role Overview
Indegene is seeking an experienced Scientific Editor to join its medical communications team. The role focuses on reviewing and refining scientific content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency in line with global standards. The ideal candidate will combine strong editorial skills with scientific expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex documents.
Key Responsibilities
Review L-MACH and other scientific content for grammar, punctuation, style, and clarity while ensuring scientific accuracy
Critically evaluate the relevance and accuracy of scientific data and content
Interpret and edit tables, charts, and statistical data to ensure accuracy and clarity
Ensure consistency in language, referencing, and document formatting across deliverables
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, addressing editorial queries and providing constructive feedback
Adapt to changing guidelines, regulations, and best practices in medical writing and scientific publishing
Mentor junior editors and assist with onboarding new team members
Conduct data integrity and accuracy reviews to ensure high-quality outputs
Required Qualifications and Experience
Experience: 4–5 years in scientific editing, medical writing, or related medical communications roles
Strong editorial, proofreading, and content review skills
Attention to detail and analytical thinking for accurate data interpretation
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and prioritize tasks effectively
Proficiency with editorial tools, referencing software, document management, and collaboration platforms
Understanding of medical SOPs, MCA procedures, and regulatory requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Flexibility and adaptability to manage revisions and updates
Desirable Skills
Subject matter expertise in therapeutic or scientific areas
Training and mentoring experience for junior team members
Strong organizational and project management skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, global, matrix environment
