Team Overview – Antibody Biology

The Antibody Biology team focuses on the engineering, development, and validation of high-quality antibodies for research applications. The team specializes in antibody design, protein expression, purification, conjugation, and immunoassay validation, using advanced molecular and biochemical technologies to deliver innovative research products.


Job Overview

The Scientist I – Protein Biology will be an integral member of the antibody development team, contributing to protein expression, purification, characterization, and immunoassay validation. This role is ideal for early-career scientists with a strong foundation in protein biology and a passion for experimental research, data integrity, and continuous scientific learning.


Key Responsibilities

Experimental Research & Development

  • Design, plan, and execute protein and antibody-related experiments aligned with program objectives

  • Perform protein expression and purification using multiple expression systems

  • Conduct antibody and protein characterization using biochemical and immunological assays

  • Support antibody conjugation, validation, and performance testing

Data Management & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate and timely experimental records in laboratory notebooks and data systems

  • Compile, analyze, and present experimental data in written reports and oral presentations

  • Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and laboratory best practices

Scientific Collaboration & Learning

  • Actively participate in team meetings and cross-functional discussions

  • Continuously review scientific literature and stay updated on advancements in protein and antibody biology

  • Contribute to collaborative research initiatives and product development efforts


Education & Experience Requirements

Educational Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Life Sciences with 0–4 years of relevant research experience,
    OR

  • PhD in Life Sciences, awarded or submitted within the last 12 months

Required Experience & Technical Expertise

  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of protein expression and purification

  • Hands-on experience with affinity, ion-exchange, and size-exclusion chromatography

  • Experience working with inclusion bodies and protein refolding techniques

  • Familiarity with automated purification platforms such as ÄKTA, NGC, or liquid handling systems

  • Protein characterization using SDS-PAGE, SEC-HPLC, and immunoassays including ELISA, Western Blot, and Immunofluorescence (IF)

  • Basic to intermediate experience in protein engineering, molecular biology, and mutant design

Desirable Skills

  • Exposure to structural biology and protein modeling tools such as PyMOL, Schrödinger, Discovery Studio, or similar software

  • Research experience demonstrated through publications, thesis work, or project reports

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with working knowledge of statistical analysis tools such as GraphPad Prism
