This role is based in Hyderabad, India, and supports Global Procurement transformation initiatives within the Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE).

This position is ideal for professionals with experience in procurement strategy, portfolio management, digital transformation, and cross-functional project coordination within multinational organizations.

Role Overview

The Senior Associate – Strategic Projects plays a key role in supporting the execution of Amgen’s global procurement strategy. The position involves project coordination, portfolio analysis, stakeholder engagement, and contribution to transformation initiatives including digital enablement, ESG integration, and operational excellence.

The role requires strong analytical capabilities, structured project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with global, cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Program Management

  • Support execution of procurement transformation roadmap initiatives

  • Coordinate timelines, deliverables, risk tracking, and reporting

  • Facilitate project meetings and maintain documentation dashboards

  • Assist in preparing communication materials for stakeholders

Portfolio & Investment Coordination

  • Collect and analyze data to support portfolio reviews and strategic investment decisions

  • Partner with Finance and Procurement CoE teams for budget alignment and roadmap tracking

  • Prepare executive reports and leadership presentations

Strategic Initiative Execution

  • Contribute to digital procurement, ESG, innovation, and operational efficiency initiatives

  • Gather business requirements and assess current procurement processes

  • Support structured continuous improvement initiatives

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Build and maintain relationships across Global Procurement and adjacent business functions

  • Support change management activities and stakeholder communications

  • Ensure alignment of initiatives with organizational goals and timelines

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related discipline

  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic program management, transformation initiatives, or management consulting

  • Experience managing complex project portfolios

  • Prior involvement in procurement transformation programs

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to influence senior leadership

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to work effectively in global and virtual team environments

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, PgMP, or Agile certification

  • Experience in digital procurement transformation or ESG integration

  • Exposure to global procurement operating models

  • Experience preparing executive-level dashboards and governance reporting
