Job Summary:
The Senior Data Scientist will support Pharmacovigilance (PS&PV) by delivering advanced analytics, machine learning models, and high-quality reports for regulatory compliance and business performance. This role involves independently managing small to mid-scale projects and influencing strategy through data science innovation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced analytical support for PSUR, DSUR, PQR, APR, audit/inspection, signal detection, and risk-based monitoring

  • Translate business questions into analytical problems and design solutions using ML, NLP, and data visualization

  • Develop tools and dashboards to improve data-driven decision-making across PV functions

  • Manage and deliver on high-visibility, cross-functional projects

  • Guide analytics for business use cases such as forecasting, event prediction, churn modeling, etc.

  • Develop new statistical models and algorithms to extract insights from structured and unstructured data

  • Collaborate across IT, PV, and development teams to enhance data quality and integration

  • Mentor junior data scientists and act as a deputy to senior management as needed

  • Stay updated with developments in AI and data science to drive innovation in safety analytics


Qualifications:

  • Master's/Bachelor’s in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or Life Sciences

  • PhD/MBA from a reputed institute preferred

  • 10–15 years of data science experience, with at least 1–3 years in pharma, CRO, or life sciences

  • Technical proficiency in Python/R, SQL, and Machine Learning (including deep learning, NLP, time series)

  • Experience working with large-scale data systems, data lakes, and databases (e.g., Oracle, SAS)

  • Domain knowledge in pharmacovigilance or clinical operations

  • Strong communication and project management skills

  • Ability to translate technical insights into actionable business intelligence
