Job Purpose
The Senior Director, Statistics, will lead the Global Statistical Sciences (GSS) team in Bangalore, providing strategic and operational leadership. This role is essential for developing, managing, and implementing global strategies for statistical deliverables across Lilly’s portfolio. The Senior Director will create a flexible and efficient organization to respond to evolving business demands and external trends, fostering a motivated workforce to deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Provide oversight for GSS at LCCI, contributing to cross-functional initiatives and influencing the broader R&D field.
Resource Management: Collaborate with GSS leadership to effectively plan and manage resources for project delivery.
Process Improvement: Drive efficiency and continuous improvement within LCCI and across GSS to meet therapeutic area and business unit goals.
Technical Capability Development: Establish deep technical expertise at LCCI, supervising diverse statistical activities and fostering advanced statistical capabilities within the team.
Partnership Engagement: Build strong partnerships with site leadership and functional groups to enhance site strategy and effectiveness.
Enterprise Leadership: Exhibit strong business acumen and problem-solving skills, maintaining awareness of the external environment through benchmarking and collaborations.
Fiscal Accountability: Ensure fiscal responsibility for GSS at LCCI, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and regulations.
People Management: Lead and develop direct reports, recruiting and retaining a skilled workforce while fostering a culture of inclusion and innovation.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics.
Experience: Minimum of 15 years in the industry, with at least 7 years of supervisory experience; 5 years as a leader of leaders preferred.
Knowledge: Broad understanding of the drug development process, including industry requirements and quality expectations.
Strategic Development: Proven ability to develop and implement strategies across people, processes, and technology.
Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying issues and offering creative solutions, including risk mitigation strategies.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within global teams and drive common objectives.
