Job Summary
Amgen, a global biotechnology leader, is seeking a Senior Manager – Scientific Communications to spearhead medical and scientific content initiatives for global and U.S. markets. This Hyderabad-based on-site role involves managing a team that develops high-quality publications, scientific assets, and medical information aligned with Amgen’s product and therapeutic area strategies (including General Medicine, Inflammation, Oncology, Rare Disease, and Obesity). If you are experienced in global scientific communication and team leadership in the life sciences domain, this role is a strategic opportunity to shape international pharma narratives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead creation of accurate, innovative scientific content (FAQs, DSEs, MSL tools, digital media)
Oversee publication deliverables including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and oral presentations
Respond to global medical information inquiries and support payer-related content
Collaborate with global operations for process alignment and digital innovation
Implement comprehensive, adaptable scientific communication plans
Ensure adherence to SOPs and regulatory standards
Mentor and manage team members and support onboarding
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to drive product strategy execution
Required Skills & Qualifications
Doctorate degree with minimum 2 years in Global Publication, Medical Communications, or Medical Strategy
(Or Master’s with 6 years, Bachelor’s with 8 years, Associate’s with 10 years)
Minimum 2 years of people or project management experience
Expertise in clinical research, patient care, or scientific affairs
In-depth knowledge of pharma regulations and publication standards (e.g., ICMJE, GPP)
Strategic planning and execution within matrix organizations
Strong scientific analysis and medical literature review capabilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital content platforms
Preferred Skills
MD, PhD, PharmD, or DO preferred
Experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, or Pharma Commercialization
Knowledge of Amgen’s therapeutic areas
Familiarity with AI tools and omnichannel communication platforms
Ability to collaborate globally in dynamic, cross-functional environments
Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills
