Job Opportunity: Senior Medical Director - Oncology

Location: Boston, MA (Home-based for candidates outside MA)
Focus: Early and Late Stage Clinical Development
Requirements: MD required

About the Company

We are collaborating with a Boston-based biotech firm that specializes in oncology. With a diverse pipeline and a strong global presence, they are seeking motivated Clinical Developers for two Senior Medical Director positions focused on either early stage (IND-Phase I) or late stage (Phase II-III) clinical development.

Role Responsibilities

  • Shape and execute clinical development plans in alignment with company strategic goals.
  • Contribute to the creation of clinical trial protocols, defining study endpoints, and determining patient eligibility criteria.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to analyze and interpret trial data, providing insights for future development phases.
  • Report directly to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and support key decision-making processes.
  • Assist with medical monitoring and ensure smooth daily operations for clinical research.
  • Oversee clinical trial execution, including protocol design, investigator selection, and monitoring activities.
  • Draft and review critical clinical documents such as IND applications and regulatory filings.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure strategic alignment and effective communication.

Qualifications

  • MD required; board certification or specialization is not needed.
  • Essential: Previous clinical trial experience in oncology.
  • Essential: Experience in medical monitoring, clinical development, or investigator work (pure Clin Ops or Translational backgrounds will not be considered).
  • Essential: Industry experience (Biotech/Pharma preferred; open to CRO experience).
  • Essential: Positive, team-oriented attitude with a strong oncology/science focus.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base Salary: $310,000 to $350,000.
  • Bonus and additional benefits on top of the base salary.
  • Flexible working arrangements: In-office expectations of 2 days a week for those near Boston; 1-2 days per month for important meetings for remote employees.
