Position Overview

EVERSANA is seeking a highly skilled Medical Science Liaison (MSL) / Senior MSL to support the launch of a newly approved targeted therapy for ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This remote, field-based role covers the East Coast (Maine to Florida) and requires proximity to a major airport hub.

The MSL/Sr. MSL will serve as a scientific field expert in oncology, engaging healthcare professionals (HCPs), Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and professional societies to provide peer-to-peer scientific exchange on clinical, value-based, and research topics related to ALK+ NSCLC. This role ensures compliance with regulatory and corporate guidelines while building strong, collaborative scientific relationships.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific Leadership & Engagement

  • Serve as the primary medical point of contact for your territory

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of oncology standards of care, clinical protocols, and emerging therapies for ALK+ NSCLC

  • Engage in scientific exchange with KOLs, HCPs, advisory boards, and professional societies

  • Support investigator-initiated studies (IISTs) and clinical trial site interactions

  • Conduct pre-launch KOL profiling to enhance strategic planning and territory insights

Territory & Client Management

  • Develop and track KOL engagement plans, maintaining long-term scientific collaborations

  • Respond to unsolicited medical information requests and clinical program inquiries

  • Collaborate with commercial colleagues to align field scientific activities with product strategy

  • Attend scientific congresses, medical meetings, and provide debriefs and actionable insights

Medical & Scientific Expertise

  • Serve as a field-based scientific expert on the company’s oncology pipeline

  • Provide clinical and scientific training to internal teams as needed

  • Translate complex clinical and value-based evidence to diverse stakeholders, including payers and formulary committees

Compliance & Ethics

  • Ensure strict adherence to corporate SOPs, legal, and regulatory requirements in all scientific interactions

  • Demonstrate a high standard of professional and ethical conduct across all field activities

Travel: Up to 70% (overnight stays required for KOL meetings, congresses, and internal training)


Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Advanced degree: PharmD, MD, PhD, MSN, NP, or PA

Experience:

  • MSL: Minimum 2 years pharmaceutical experience, ≥1 year in oncology/rare disease with gene therapy knowledge

  • Sr. MSL: Minimum 5 years pharmaceutical experience, ≥3 years in oncology/rare disease

  • Prior product launch experience required

  • Demonstrated expertise in ALK+ NSCLC or targeted therapy programs

  • Experience with scientific presentations to KOLs, payers, and formulary committees

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong scientific, clinical, and business acumen

  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills

  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical data effectively

  • Knowledge of NCI cooperative groups, oncology research networks, and regional institutions

  • Collaborative, results-oriented, and adaptable in fast-paced environments
